Text Box: Gil Buffkin is licensed by the State of Tennessee and is the only full time inspector for Gilmar Home Inspections.  To avoid a conflict of interest and in accordance with the State of Tennessee and National Association of Certified Home Inspector (NACHI) code of ethics, he has no ties to any contractors, mortgage lenders, real estate agents, or brokers.   Gil is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina and he and his family moved to Crossville in 1992.  He is an Electrical Engineer with over Thirty years as a Corporate and Plant Engineer working in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia and Tennessee. He has also been responsible for the design and construction of several manufacturing facilities in Tennessee and Kentucky.   Along with over 30 years as a Corporate and Plant Engineer, Gil has successfully completed courses of study in Home Inspections at Inspection Training Associates (ITA) in Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN and Manass, VA, along with additional studies with T.R.E.E.S in Chattanooga, TN. Additional studies with Pro-Lab Laboratory have been completed in Mole Assessment and Air Quality Testing. Studies and certification for Radon testing have been completed with Auburn University and the Southern Regional Radon Training Center (SRRTC).
